With the NBA lockout looking more and more serious, rumors of Kobe Bryant playing in Turkey continue to swirl. In fact, those talks are getting louder. Recently, Ergin Ataman, the head coach of Besiktas, confirmed his club is trying to ink Kobe Bryant to a deal.
Said Ataman: “It is a fact that Kobe Bryant’s managers have contacted us.”
While in China, Kobe Bryant reportedly said he’d consider playing outside of the NBA during the lockout. One of the destinations he mentioned happened to be Turkey.
If Kobe Bryant signs in Turkey with Besiktas, he’d join New Jersey Nets superstar Deron Williams. As it stands, money seems like the only thing standing between Kobe Bryant and a new job.
