Push cart vendors are a universal phenomenon, and I suppose if there were to be life on Mars, you would see tentacled street vendors selling wars such as Mars bars – OK, so that was a joke in bad taste (pun intended). Well, you get the drift – push carts are here to stay, and while some of them do not require lighting at all, what about vendors who sell hot drinks or noodles with soup? They could always hook it up to the mains and pay a monthly power bill, or they could hope that the Solar Thattugada (a solar-powered cart) could be released worldwide sooner rather than later.

This is a conceptual design that is inspired by carts used throughout India at the moment, albeit with a low-tech solar hot water system that comprises of a copper water coil, rubber gasket, coated aluminum liner, fiberglass insulation, and an ABS plastic shell which are protected by glass and supported by a layer of corrugated sheet metal.
