In the twisted world of the WNBA, the fact that the All-Star game MVP lost the game actually isn’t that weird. Swin Cash, who totaled 21 points and 12 boards for the Western Conference, won the 2011 WNBA All-Star MVP. The Eastern Conference, however, won the game by a final score of 118-113.
The big shot of the game was authored by Katie Douglas, who nailed a three-pointer with under a minute to go to give the East the lead for good. The winning squad was led by Cappie Pondexter’s 17 points. Tina Charles and Douglas each chipped in 15.
It was the second All-Star MVP award for Cash. She became just the second WNBA player to win the award multiple times.
