Microsoft accidentally leaks their new project Tulalip

We had Friendster, Hi-5 (in case anyone can remember), MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and now Google+. In a bid to not be left out of the loop, it seems that Microsoft also has plans for their very own social networking/search engine hybrid service named Tulalip, when they "accidentally" leaked the splash page on its website socl.com. The splash page has since been taken down, leaving only the message:

"Thanks for stopping by. Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web. We didn't mean to, honest."

The description which was found on the splash image read "With Tulalip you can Find what you need and Share what you know easier than ever." We're not sure what Microsoft has planned for Tulalip, although some are thinking it might be another social networking platform as the URL might be short for "social". Unfortunately Microsoft has yet to comment about this apparent leak or about Tulalip, which means that everything at the moment is pretty much up in the air.

The question now is, if this is really another social networking site, do we really need another one? If not, what do you think it’s about? Let’s hear your theories!
