More on iOS 5′s camera panoramic feature

A while back when the first beta of iOS 5 was released, within the code was spotted a hint that iOS 5 would have the ability to snap panoramic photographs. Sure, there are apps out there that will be able to do that for you, but having native apps usually trumps downloading, and sometimes even paying for, third party apps.

While it remained as a hint or a promise back then, it looks like the guys at 9to5 Mac have done more digging in the iOS 5 beta three's code, and have uncovered what appears to be directions on how to use the panoramic feature using iOS’ built-in camera app.

The code appears to instruct users to move their phone from left to right, as well as keeping it along a center line. The line we're assuming will be provided on screen, which coincides with some of the new iOS 5 camera features that would include grid boxes for better photo composition. As great as having native apps would be, you've got to feel a bit bad for app developers who may be having their apps become obsolete.
